    Why might slavery not have been so important in the river-valley civilizations?

    (Mesopotamia, Egypt, Indus)? this is for ap world history and i cant find it in the textbook...i use earth and its peoples 2nd edition

    Slavery in Old Kingdom Egypt as well as new (Pyramids??). Mesopotamia were more hunters and gatherers then veered toward royalty. There was a hierarchy back then but maybe some won't consider it slavery.
